Joanna

Joanna graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor's in biology and teaching certification in biology, chemistry, physics, zoology, anatomy and physiology, and botany. After graduation, she decided to stay home with her 3 boys and home-schooled them for many years.  Her teaching may be credited with inspiring both her oldest and youngest sons to express interest in going into science.
In fall of 2019, Joanna began teaching at a public high school. Her typical teaching load consists of biology, chemistry, zoology, astronomy, and physics.

"Physics has been very exciting to teach with the help of IPaSS.  I am relearning the physics right along with my students and get to be in on the excitement of figuring something out right along with them.  I love building relationships with each of my students and believe that is the key to getting them excited about science.  They see how much I love every aspect of science and while I might not always know the answer, I always love finding the answer!"
