Julie

Julie has been teaching for 15 years, the first 4 years in South Carolina, and the past 11 in Chicago. Throughout her career, Julie has taught physical science, chemistry, AP Computer Science A, physics, honors physics, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, and Nanoscience & Nanotechnology. Currently, she teaches AP Physics 1 and AP Physics 2. Julie earned her MS and  PhD in condensed matter physics from Ohio State University, and her BA from Northwestern as a double major in Integrated Science and Physics). Prior to teaching, Julie spent 7 years working as a researcher for a textile company in South Carolina. In addition to teaching high school, most summers Julie also has a teaching appointment at a large university in Chicago, where she has taught the equivalent of AP Physics 2 or AP C Mechanics most summers, and her high school courses are offered for dual credit. In addition to teaching, Julie has also been a reader or table leader for the AP Physics exam for most years since 2018. When has described her "midlife crisis" to be learning to play the pipe organ.
