Chris

Chris began teaching at a Montessori-based private school outside of Chicago in 2018 following a successful career as an Environmental Scientist for over 14 years in the private sector in Chicago. He teaches IB Physics SL and HL as well as IB ESS and Integrated Science. He is passionate about promoting curious students, teaching physics, relating what’s learned in class to real-world experiences and phenomena, and designing experiments with students with traditional lab equipment as well as hardware store designs. What Chris loves about his school is the small class sizes, student engagement and relationships, and the freedom to explore topics alongside his students. He’s also actively involved in Physics Northwest and has recently joined AAPT.

Chris also has experience teaching Biology, Chemistry, Astronomy, Geoscience, and Environmental Science. Passionate about the outdoors, Chris enjoys fishing, hiking, biking, running, and spending time in nature with his wife, two children, and dog.
